Scenario

1.      Nitric Acid

Adds concentrated nitric acid to concentrated sulfuric acid at room temperature.

2.      Bromobenzene

Gloves get bromobenzene on them and your nose starts to itch.

3.      Bottle of water

Drinking water in the lab.

4.      Backpack

Lying on the floor next to the weigh station.

Hazard

Scenario

1.      Bromine solution

Picking up the stock bottle to obtain some for the experiment not wearing gloves.

2.      15 M Acetic Acid

Standing right behind someone carrying a beaker filled with the acid.

3.      Test tubes

Carrying the test tubes one at a time to the waste container to discard the reaction mixture.

4.      I-Phone

Using your I-Phone to measure times for each reaction without removing gloves.
